How to choose
- Ownership: who profits if you adopt certain tools?
- Group composition: non-competing, and in your revenue band?
- Benchmarking rigour: how are numbers collected and checked?
- Time commitment: meetings, travel and preparation.
- Exit terms: minimum term, refunds and notice period.
- Price transparency: is the cost published or only given after a sales call?
Questions to ask before you join
- Who owns the company, and which vendors sponsor it?
- Are vendors present in meetings or at events, and can they pitch members?
- How many members have left in the last year, and why?
- Can I speak with a current member in my revenue band?
- What is the total annual cost including travel?
- What happens to my data and benchmarks if I leave?

FAQ
What does an MSP coach cost?
Most providers do not publish prices. Of the listings here, these show a public price: The Tech Tribe: $59/mo Essentials; $79/mo or $790/yr Growth; Rainmakers by application; Marketopia peer groups: MSP Elite 32.6 Club $1,999/mo; others not public; MSPAlliance: Free membership; MSPGeek: Free. Ask for written pricing, minimum term and exit terms before you commit.
Are MSP peer groups worth it?
It depends on the group composition and your goals. Evaluate who is in the room (non-competing, similar size), how benchmarking is done, the time commitment and the exit terms. Use the checklist on this page.
Which MSP peer groups are vendor-independent?
Use the ownership filter above to show independent listings. Independent does not mean free of commercial interests: some independent providers also sell services or software, which the directory flags separately.
What is the difference between a peer group and a coach?
A peer group is a facilitated set of owners who hold each other accountable and compare numbers. A coach works one-to-one on your specific business. Some providers offer both.
What happened to TruMethods and HTG?
IT Glue, a Kaseya company, acquired TruMethods in May 2021, and Kaseya merged TruMethods Peer and Technology Marketing Toolkit into MSP Success in June 2026. ConnectWise acquired HTG in January 2018 and renamed it IT Nation Evolve in August 2018.
